Swami GyanDharma talks about the importance of developing awareness in our meditation practice, and the ability to allow the mind to fully “air” itself without getting swept away by the onslaught of our thoughts. Building up our practice slowly and systematically, we develop the strength required to observe whatever arises without rejecting anything. We lessen our participation in the drama of thoughts, becoming less reactive to our conditioned minds. Little by little, instead of holding onto, we start to let go of pain, emotional trauma, physical tension – or rather, they slowly start to fade away in the light of awareness.
