Over the next few months, we are sharing some of the final projects (~7,500 words) written by the graduate teachers from the ashram's recent 2015-17 Yoga Teacher Training Course.
This fifth in the series is from Jo Furnival Doran entitled Yoga for Cancer. An excerpt from the introduction is given below, and the link to her full project is given at the bottom.
As a practising physiotherapist for many years, as well as a keen yoga student, I’ve often dreamt about how these 2 important aspects of my life - yoga practice and my work in the field of cancer treatment - could blend, support, and balance each other. As a lymphoedema specialist, I already worked with a majority of people with a cancer diagnosis and so could see the genuine benefits that many could gain from instilling yoga on their journey. This project was the next step!
